Persian Carpet Knitting Machine. Requires investment!!!
This is an invention of the Ukrainian inventor Viktor Koldun.
I help him in this project.
Like the folding bike, we are looking for an investor for this project.
New textile machine
Let us bring to your attention a new way of knitting an oriental rug that allows you to completely automate the process of knitting a rug. Currently, a mobile phone size knitting head is capable of tying 1–2 knots of any oriental type in 1 second (Persian, Turkish, Caucasian, etc.). By placing several hundred heads on a standard loom, it is possible to obtain a finished oriental rug within one day, that would take several months or even years to make by hand. And all this at a higher quality and lower cost.
Moreover, it is possible to establish a fundamentally new business - long-weave tapestries of photographic accuracy. By sending a design drawing or photograph to the factory, the customer will receive an exact replica of it in the form of a tapestry carpet in a few days. Moreover, the cost of such personalized tapestry will be less than the cost of a classic oriental rug with a typical pattern.
To date, a working prototype model of carpet knitting machine has already been manufactured, which has been designed and proved the very possibility of creating a knitting head capable of forming complete knots on the web of the carpet. Recently, a number of improvements to the cutting head have been developed and tested, which have made it possible to increase its performance while increasing its reliability at the same time! Exactly. Due to the fact that our knot is tied not by mechanical manipulators, but by the flow of air in the knot-forming channel of variable topology, the thread theoretically is unable to get tangled up or to form a knot of wrong shape. What's more, a number of improvements can increase the density of knots to several million per square meter (several thousand per square inch). Today, our design node density is 500,000 knots per square meter (or 320 per square inch). But this density, if necessary, can be varied within the widest possible range.
With all the gigantic variety of handmade oriental rugs, their cost can be no less than 0.1 US cents per knot. For our production method, the cost of 0.05 cents per knot or less is quite cost-effective.
Now we intend to create a full-size tapestry machine. But we have no experience with looms of such size. Therefore, we are looking for a partner who, on mutually beneficial terms, would join in the formation of a new business with the working name "fully customizable multicolor long-standing tapestry". If you wish to join this project, we are ready to consider any mutually beneficial proposals.
Firstly, let me demonstrate to you two videos that show the operation of the working layout of the previous version. I want to immediately draw attention to the fact that all the speeds of almost all mechanisms and processes are intentionally slowed by 2–10 times to clearly showcase the internal workings and mechanics behind the very possibility of tying a Turkish knot using my “Knot-forming channel of variable topology”:

Many years have passed since then, the Turkmen knot became the “favorite”, and the actual speed of the mechanisms has increased far beyond the one shown before.

This inspired me and my companion, who is now working as a freelance engineer in Israel, to create a high-speed working layout, which will demonstrate the possibility of tying several knots per second. And in the future, the creation of a full-fledged carpet knitting machine. Therefore, the design of the head for the layout is exactly the same that will be used on a full-size machine.

Now about the most important thing.
I act as a private individual and the sole owner of all intellectual rights to a new way of knitting carpets.
They support me and help me, a few of my friends, privately. As a matter of fact, I planned to create a Startup with them for knitting
"fully customizable multicolor oriental rugs" But realistically evaluating my strengths, I understand that although such a startup is quite real and profitable, the process of creating a full-sized tapestry knitting machine can stretch for several years and would require substantial financial investment. I would not want to lose them on the reinvention of what others have long been working with and are well-established.
There are several private companies that are ready to help me. So far, based on my friendships and mutual agreements with the leadership of these companies. If necessary, everything will be put in writing as a legal agreement.
The prototype of three heads is ready to manufacture (47 drawings):
